Within the “Itsasmendi 7 Bilduma” project, which is a collection of contemporary photography and was born in 2008 with the aim of highlighting the concept of vintage and conveying it visually to consumers through different photographers.
The argument of this 2020 “Message from a castaway in a bottle” was carried out in a contest with students from the School of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country in Leioa, with Sara Dominguez winning and managing to turn such a complex year into a serene image. , full of calm and with a message of positivity.
The event was attended by Josu Rekalde, author of the 2019 photograph “The music of wine: 25th harvest”, Jesus De Pedro, author of the 2018 photograph under the title “a magical space”, the year in which work on our new Winery began, and Jon Beristain. author of the 2014 photograph, XX vintage and whose title is “A dream come true”.
The tasting of this new vintage, whose harvest began on September 9, earlier than ever, was carried out by the sommelier and professor at the Hospitality School in Leioa Antonio Casares, highlighting the importance of the soul of a wine and reflected in that Cantabrian character in this case where The floral delicacy and the mineral part linked to the territory coexist.
Fresh, mature, complex and very versatile Txakoli gastronomically speaking and where there is less presence of lees aging to respect from the primary part a vintage that we will always remember because many people in confinement discovered the most authentic part of nature.
